Cactus Beauty

These photos below can be seen at Belle Isle Conservatory, in the Cactus wing of this huge garden. It is hot and humid in there, but you can find all types of cacti growing so beautifully.

All Open

This single cactus stand out and call attention to visitors. I love the reddish color at the the end of each petal, and it is just fantastic.

A Family

With the sun behind these cacti, the colors are soft and romantic! You can see all sizes and shapes of this wonderful family.

A Different View

Each cactus has it own shape and the color is also more reddish. This beauty is very pleasant to look at, and the petals are also soft to the touch.

Little Yellow Flowers

I saw these little yellow flowers poking out from the ground, adding a little touch of Spring to a very dry environment in the garden.

A Little Closer

I zoomed in a little closer to these yellow flowers, and saw the cactus has that shine and polished look on it.

Another Kind

Moving on to the next area in the garden, these cacti have a more grayish color to them. They look like stars of the earth.

If I have another opportunity to spend more time, I would love to write down the official names of these cacti. Belle Isle is located in downtown Detroit, and of course, is on the Detroit River.
