Confession

I am of bones and flesh
Sixty five pounds if you want to count
Days out, nights in I try
Living with pain all my life

I now feel very beaten
My spirit is close to depletion
As life handing out problems
And now I can barely breathe!

I am of four feet eight
Short and skinny, weak as a child
But my shoulders are heavy with life
Mess after mess I have lost sight!

And here I am praying to God
As flesh and soul numbed to the bones
What to do when money rules?
It can buy happiness, I know so!

I want to break free
Like the birds and the bees
Disappear like dust on a windy day
Forget life, forget all the messes inside!

  1. I want to break away too, but not to disappear like dust, yet is good to forget all the messes.

  2. A powerful insight into silent pain and a longing to be set free of painful emotions. Very well done Icy.

  5. Such a sad poem. The desire to break free is one of my desires too. I used to feel as sad as this at times.

  6. Icy, I am in tears while reading your post. This has so strong emotions, and I can feel the pain. If indeed we can only break free :( sometimes it is easier said than done.

  7. Yet another heart wrenching thought, Icy. Life can indeed be so painful. Thankfully we're not alone. God has given us loved ones to keep us holding on.

  8. Icy from dust we begin and to dust we return, but you have made such a lovely impact in between and continue to - I do not want to see the end. While we know that God said He would not give us more than we can bear there are times we become painfully close, but at those times He cradles us in His arms.
Love You! Take care & God bless!
