You Are the Essence
You are the essence of my soul
All you children that were born out there
I see you as the future heroes
Your path-I know-is hard and trouble!
What I say to you-to try your very best
Count your blessing, in smallest things
Gratitude will make life less harsh
Positive energy will carry you through!
Oh all children, what you mean to me
You are the essence how the world should be
Free, innocent, spirited, and carefree
Just play, just laugh, and reach for the sky!
It is you, the essence of my soul
Within you, I found my lost youth
Within you, hopes and dreams restore
You must know, you’re the essence of earth also!

oh, another very inspiring one Icy, and very true. I love seeing children and communicating with them sometimes, their innocence and jovial spirit bring smiles and inspiration.
Beautiful poem and reminder of how wonderful it is to be care-free, playful and curious, like a child.
You're so right. Preserving our children is preserving the future of the world.
Love this poem, you play well with words Icy. I did another blog and am inviting you there, you'll be the first visitor as it is still unpublished. Just click on my name and it'll direct you there.
I like this one, among the rest.
Icy, this is so moving and beautiful. You definitely have a worthwhile message here!
Icy, that is a very beautiful poem with a great message. I especially like the third verse.
Another good one, about the innocent potential of the future.
