Hip Replacement Dilemma

My cousin Jalen's husband had a hip replacement about two years ago after he suffered so much pain from an accident. The durom cup hip replacement went well, and he seemed to do much better. We were all happy that he finally was able to live without constant pain, and enjoyed spending more time with his family.

Then Rick found out he had issues on zimmer durom cup, where the bones around the implanted cups didn't formed, and the cups were floating loosely inside causing him pain. So my cousin's life once again turned upside down, and many trips were made back and forth to the hospital.

After many x-rays later, Rick learned that he had one of the defected zimmer durom cup types, and his only option at the time was to go through another surgery. All he wanted was to live his life without so much pain and burden on his wife.

Now, after all of those troubles, I heard that Rick needed knees replacement also. The accident had broken his life little by little, but Rick has a strong love for life, so he will do whatever he has to do to stay alive. I just hope that nothing is going wrong this time for him. He has enough pain as it is.

  1. I don't know of anyone who has had to endure this type of surgery or replacement but it sounds very painful. I am sorry to here he is still facing more procedures, hopefully this will be the last.

  2. Poor guy and his wife. What a painful journey. I had an uncle who had hip replacement. While he was getting his hip replaced his wife was going through the change of life and then they had two more kids. We teased him that he just had to try his new hip out. :-)
