Scenic Sunday--Bridge to the Island
This is the bridge that connects us to Belle Isle. In the summer, you can see pedestrians, and cyclists taking this bridge to the island for a fun day.
I took the kids to the island on a nice warm day last month, and we spent more time exploring! Like most people, we were drawn to the water.
Though we would love to spend all of our time on the shoreline of the Detroit River, we couldn't since it was full of droppings from the seagulls, geese and ducks. We had to watch every step that we took.

I've never been to the island. Didn't realize it was such a long bridge. Actually makes Detroit look clean.

Icy, I read that a bird can eat more than its weight in a day. Maybe that's why they drop so much. :-) Your pics are wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteJust like that nice park we went to last time, it was really nice to see the fountains and just be lazy on the grass but so much droppings from the ducks.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures make the Belle Isle bridge look great. I have always loved driving across that bridge. Just knowing what's on the other side as I approached the island has always made me happy. Did you know there used to be a zoo on Belle Isle?
