Scenic Sunday--The Dome of Fern

By now, I think you all had a complete tour of the Belle Isle Conservatory. Although I must say that it is only a small, but important part of the island. There are many places at Belle Isle to enjoy. When I take the children here, we usually have a picnic by the river, visit the Conservatory, play at the many playgrounds, and enjoy the main fountain.

Today, I'm showing you another part of Belle Isle Conservatory, and that is the dome of fern.

After you go through the cactus section of the Belle Isle Conservatory, you can now see the fern dome adjoining to it. Everything is green in this area, and many different types of fern.

The Conservatory places two benches near the entrance so visitors can take a break, and enjoy the view. It is a very tranquil place to absorb the beautiful scenery, which seems bored to many.

This is just a general view of the fern dome. I didn't have any close up picture of the different types of fern at all. I just sit and enjoy the view!

  4. When I lived in Florida as a young bride, in my first new house, I grew at least ten different varieties of fern in my entrance way. They were so wonderful and did very well in that hot humid climate.

  11. Excellent view of the inside of the conservatory. I always tell people that I've never seen some of these kinds of plants, but I've been in here, so I guess I have after all.
