Colorful Pansies

I read somewhere that you can keep pansies indoor during the winter, and so I did. I bought a flower pot and put it on my window sill in the mud room where there would be some sun coming though.

However, the plant became stringy for the lack of sun light, and I found out that pansies didn't smell that great either. The pansies you see below were from the past summer .

As for me, I love lavender, violet, or purple so obviously I chose these colors for my winter experience and cheer ups. They didn't survive indoor long afterward.

Amanda at Self Sagacity had a post on how to Encourage Pansies growing, and had many pansies in different colors. I might want to try and grow these in the summer.

Icy, I like Pansies two. They have cute little faces and come in so many colors. One year I bought one that blooms year around. I think it is called an Ice Pansy, but my bush took over the space by summer.

Have a blessed day!

Flowers do need sunlight like us. And it should be. Thanks for your sharing.

Have experienced with many others, they really need some outdoor exposure, but not limit only to Outdoor Wednesday.

Lavender pansies are my favorite ones to plant outside also. I haven't ever tried to keep them over the winter months. Perhaps with another try, with a different color in a different space it might work for you. Good luck!

You had some very pretty pansies in the past. I think are so bright and colorful but never seem to have luck with them.

I love this combination. I don't think I've seen quite this combination before. They're bright and sunny. I guess the colour makes up for the lack of smell?

I love your pansies! Mine sometimes get stringy outside...they need direct sunlight. Thanks for sharing. Mumzie

The pansies are beautiful. Sorry you had trouble keeping them going inside. Have you ever thought of growing African Violets? My grandmother had great luck with those as indoor plants.

Beautiful little pansies, they always make me smile. I've never tried to grow them but maybe this summer.
