St John's Wort Flowers
If I am not mistaking, the flowers below are called St John's wort. These flowers are just so pretty, unlike their name. I have heard of health benefits from St John's wort plant, but finally saw the flowers.
There is all kind of information about St John's wort online if you are interested in knowing more. I just want to feature these beautiful flowers.
I first saw these flowers in the garden section of home goods store, and just couldn't part way with them. They had rows and row of these flowers on display, which was just breath taking to see.
I love how the "whiskers" spreading all around the seed and the flower petals. Hopefully I will to see them again this year, and maybe even bring a pot home to grow.

St. John's Wort works wonders, I feel happy just looking at these pictures! :D
Your yellow reminds me about Monday. Why it is yellow for Monday?
Why not blue?
Like you, I had heard of their health benefits, but had never seen the actual flowers. They are quite pretty.
They're very striking, aren't they? Such bright gold, and such deep green leaves. I don't think they like clay, or I'd be tempted.
What beautiful flowers! I love the last one.
I have seen these blooming, but didn't know that's what they are called. Great captures and thanks for sharing.
These are little beauties aren't they? I love seeing flowers in macro. My entry for the meme was a yellow flower too - but a spring one - the hypericum flowers in the summer for us.
wow, that's lovely!
wow, that's lovely!
Wow, so vibrant. Love it.
Icy, those whiskers bring an exotic look to the flower. They are very pretty and I had never seen them before.
I'm not familiar with this herb but I do know that it is used to treat depression.
Very beautiful photos. I've seen St. John's wort flowers only once before. You're right about them not fitting with the name.
I love how they have the springy centers! Very pretty blooms!
pretty yellow =) i want to go out to see the flowers but i am tied here at home! hahaha
Gorgeous! I especially love the detail of the pollen on the anthers. The last shot looks like a pin cushion.
They are beautiful flowers and your macros are great Icy. I found some of these in a planter downtown last year, now I want some for my yard. Perfect for MYM and MM.
