Mushrooms In My Yard-1

While sitting on my sofas to upload these pictures, I have a conversation with Rainfield in my head, "We have mushrooms here too, you know, and they are right in my yard! Ha ha..." I don't know why but when I see mushrooms, I thought of Rainfield, though his mushrooms are fancier than mine.

I guess a certain blogger has a certain brand about him or her after blogging for a while. I spotted the above mushroom by itself in the sun and it looked so pretty in that creamy color.

I was out looking for wild flowers, but found none since my lawn service people came every two weeks to mow the grass. I don't even see any thistle this year.

Then I saw these mushrooms growing in my backyard after a few day of rain. They are triplet, and I have no idea if they are poison or not. We didn't touch it at all, and left them the way they were after I took a few pictures.

I keep my eyes on these triplet for the next few days, and watched them going from creamy color to brown. The picture above showed that they grew bigger, especially the middle mushroom, and then they rotted out.

  2. yes, you are right, these Mushroom can be poisonous, once after many days of heavy rainfall, our unvarnished moist wooden door became a suitable place for different types of Mushrooms. all frilly ones without stem grew out of nowhere ! it was really surprising for us!

  5. Nice shots but you are right, you never can tell if they are poisonous or not, unless you are an avid mushroom hunter.

  7. Mushrooms are some of the most interesting organisms. I don't like to touch them either, but even inside they are fascinating.

  11. I sure wouldn't eat them. :-) I have lots from all the recent Michigan rains, but yours are prettier and I do see some creeping charlie peeking out from underneath them. :-)

  12. They look cute Icy, I had some in my backyard too. I guess when we have too much moisture, that's when they appear.

  13. I've always loved mushrooms and my kitchen reflects that - mushroom needlework, pictures, decoupage, and ceramics brighten it up. I don't really know a thing about them - have a couple of coffee table books on mushrooms as well but I'm familiar only with the edible kind from Safeway. Even if I saw them growing wild, I'd shy away from them.
